Where exactly do I place it inside my oven?
This is a great question, as placement is key for performance and safety:
- For Electric Ovens with a HIDDEN bottom element: You can place the Oven Shield directly on the oven floor.
- For Electric Ovens with a VISIBLE bottom element: NEVER place the shield directly on the heating element. Instead, place it on the lowest metal rack in your oven.
- For Gas Ovens: Place the shield on the lowest metal rack. DO NOT place it on the oven floor, as this can block airflow vents and affect performance.
- For Fan-Forced Ovens: The shield is heavy enough that it will not be moved by the fan. Follow the placement rules above based on your oven type.
How do I clean the Oven Shield?
Cleaning is incredibly easy! For most spills, you can simply wait for the shield to cool, then remove it and wipe it clean with a soapy sponge or cloth. For tougher, baked-on messes, it is 100% dishwasher safe. Just pop it on the top rack for a perfect clean.
How do I trim the liner to fit my oven? Is it difficult?
Not at all! You can cut the Oven Shield with any standard pair of sharp household scissors. We recommend creating a cardboard template of your oven rack or floor first for a perfect fit, then using that to trace the shape onto your shield before cutting.
